Paper tole art cards are a fantastic way to admire your favorite pokemon in a near-3d effect. Different parts of the cards are lifted off the background by various amounts, so they appear nearer or closer to the viewer.Its very fun to do, and the effect is amazing! I use the face of one card to act as a 'screen', with a viewing window with the pokemon and any other pieces in it (Such as backgrounds, tree branches or scenery) to further the effect with various techniques, carefully cutting each piece out of sacrificial cards.
I have even done 'evolution' cards, with an earlier evolution in front of the pokemons' later, more powerful form.
All are handmade, and the scraps of cards are reused in other projects, so very little goes to waste. Care and focus are put into all of them as well as patience, and I use a press so that the card dries as flat as possible.
